Quinte Region Location
The Quinte Region is located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and embraces the area along the north shore of the Bay of Quinte, comprising the City of Belleville, the Municipality of Brighton and City of Quinte West (Trenton).
Its strategic location astride Provincial Highway 401 serving as a major transportation corridor between Toronto (90 minutes to the west), Montreal and Ottawa, offers ready access to major markets both within Canada and the United States. Some 47.5 million people reside within a 500 km radius of the Quinte Region.
With eight interchanges along Highway 401 between Brighton and Belleville, as well as a superb network of secondary highways linking the most northern areas, the Quinte Region is well served for its ground transportation needs. If your business depends on market proximity, the Quinte Region puts one in the centre of the action. More than half of all the North American industrial markets are within a day's truck run from the Quinte Region, with the closest major border crossing into the United States being approximately 100 km (60 miles) away.
The Quinte Region is a major rail terminus for Canada's two market-dominant railway companies, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific, which run their main freight lines between Toronto and Montreal through the area. In addition, Via Rail Canada runs a regular passenger schedule to Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. The region is also serviced by two airports located in Kingston and Toronto that can be reached in less than an hour and under two hours drive respectively.
